Lardons can be made from thick-sliced bacon or slab bacon.
1.
Cut thick-sliced bacon in strips that are about 1/4 inch thick by the width of the bacon.

If using slab bacon, you can cut the lardons a little thicker - about 1/3 inch by 1 to 1 1/4 inches.

Arrange the lardons in a cold skillet and turn the heat to medium-low.

Cook until lardons are golden brown on the outside, but still flexible.
